What is osteopathy and how do we treat you?

Osteopaths diagnose and treat musculoskeletal problems related to altered mechanics, function and posture. Pain can come from poor posture, injury, repetitive strain, general illness or as part of the normal ageing process. By treating the body as a whole, we address the cause of the pain, not just the symptoms.

We reach a diagnosis by taking a detailed look at your medical history, followed by a postural and structural assessment. Then we'll explain our diagnosis and proposed treatment plan to you and in most cases, treatment can commence on your first visit. If necessary, we may recommend further tests such as X-rays, MRI or other investigations. We can provide effective treatment for all musculoskeletal problems, including:

  • Back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches related to neck conditions
  • Migraine prevention
  • Hip, knee and ankle pain
  • Arthritic pain
  • Shoulder girdle pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Pregnancy related back pain
  • Muscular strains
  • Tennis elbow
  • Postural problems
